The moment is quit near. The pagerank update can take place anytime.Although I expect very few Google Bombs, If you aren't capable of bearing the shocks, Google has updated its backlinks in one of its data servers. And as we all know backlinks dominates in the calculation of Pagerank, you can get a fair bit of hint from your "future" backlinks. To check your ""future" backlink, visit their 72.14.205.100 and enter your site's URL
for eg, link:www.yoursite.com
As far as Webtalks is concerned, we are jumping from 56 backlinks to 828 backlinks.How about that as Webtalks has turned 6 months too.If PR goes as expected, I'm giving away a free copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in a contest soon
PR update : Sneak peak on backlinks

blogger
In recent, I have changed the title of my blog' home page to Webtalks- Blogging,Online Money Making,Tech Tips wheras the title for Post pages{Itempages}is Post title ~Webtalks. This has given a major boost to my Search Engine rankings.Now the question is How do I have two separate titles for the same blog's homepage and post page.
By default, your Blogger's title on the top left displays your blog title, and if it's in the items page, it'll include your post title as well.eg, Webtalks:Changing Blogger Title for Postpages.By copying the coding from below, you can change the default behavior of the title tag.
Step 2-Backup your template
Step 3-Follow the instructions below
Find this code in your XML template{in header}
Now replace it with
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'>
<b:section id='titleTag'>
<b:widget id='Blog2' locked='false' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'>
<b:includable id='comments' var='post'/>
<b:includable id='postQuickEdit' var='post'/>
<b:includable id='main' var='top'><title><b:loop values='data:posts' var='post'><b:include data='post' name='post'/></b:loop> ~ <data:blog.title/></title></b:includable>
<b:includable id='backlinkDeleteIcon' var='backlink'/>
<b:includable id='feedLinksBody' var='links'/>
<b:includable id='backlinks' var='post'/>
<b:includable id='status-message'/>
<b:includable id='feedLinks'/>
<b:includable id='nextprev'/>
<b:includable id='commentDeleteIcon' var='comment'/>
<b:includable id='post' var='post'><data:post.title/></b:includable>
</b:widget>
</b:section>
<b:else/>
<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>
<!-- End Widget-based: Changing the Blogger Title Tag -->
Further more you can add a very good keyword in homepage's title by just adding Keyword + Blog Title by finding this line in the above code{3rd last}-
<b:else/>
<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>
and adding keyword here
<b:else/>
<title> Keyword <data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>
this functionality can be used to give you blog homepage title like "make money online with Webtalks!" and post title like "Changing Blogger title for Postpages at Webtalks"
Note- Installing the above code will not change title for Archives Page as well as Labels page

Page Rank
Page rank plays a vital role in describing your web site's placement in the web especially for advertising.Page rank is updated aprox. 3 months [more details].Last time it was so on April end.This would be the second update our Webtalks is going to have, in the first one it got a Page rank of 3. While checking around my pagerank in different Google DCs I observed many of them were down possibly hidding the new PR. Currently I can't give you the exact date but make sure you visit Matt Cutt's blog as he is an google employee{Googler} and will provide further information as to when will it begin.You can also perform a quick check around the iwebtool pagerank prediction tool as other tools I noticed were using the same technology.
I can see that Webtalks will get a PR of 4 if all goes well though I was expecting a bit more from it after Google Webmasters back link count showed ~ 4000 links
I'll just scribble down what I'm upto to push my PR from 3 to 4+
Optimizing and providing the cutting edge just on time
Probabily Google Webmaster Tools is the right option. It gives you all kinds of reports which includes what all problems Googlebot faced while indexing my site.Looks like I have been typing in some typo's in my links which are clearly visible in its crawl errors.Thats why I asked my visitors to subscribe to the new feed.Well thats now of no use so no need to subscribe to the new feed.
SEO specialist quote "Your site cannot be penalised for a link pointing towards in it".You can try quickly buying links from other blogs for a short term and enjoy rest 3 months.But don't expect me selling links
So lets keep our fingers crossed from the next PR update
An update on syndication

Syndication
It looks like a page rank update is quite near. I'm quite busy updating old/broken links. In that process, I have to update again and again my posts. That may result to a flood of repeated posts in the readers of my current feed.I have a solution for that.I have syndicated a new feed from feedburner which will not publish a post which is updated after it is published.The subscription options are below{though I'll not delete the previous feed,I recommend, you subscribe to the new one to avoid crap}Looks like not all were in mood of shifting... so I did some cracking work out there a t feedburner and have succeeded to modify the existing one.So no need to change now! You can subscribe to existing feed from below.Those two damn loyal readers who shifted, its my apology to you , you may consider subscribing to the old feed.Thank you
OPTION 1- GET UPDATES IN YOUR INBOX
OPTION-2-WITH YOUR FAVOURITE READER
click here to subscribe
OPTION 3- IN YOUR GMAIL INBOX
you can try out this hack of mine to display a rotating headline {web clip}.Only for Gmail users
And ofcourse

Adsense refferals
Its been a while since google adsense team have officially anounced for their release of adsense referrals 2.0 to all Adsense publishers. While checking my daily totals a tip in green box came that my account has been upgraded to Adsense Referrals 2.0.
I rushed to it as I was eagerly waiting for it.Why?
- Expanded product inventory: While many of you have had success referring one of our Google products, some of you weren't able to find a product that fit the context of your site. Referrals 2.0 offers products from thousands of AdWords advertisers, so you can find the right ads for your sites.
- Category and keyword targeting: With thousands of products available, it can be difficult to decide which ads will perform best on your site. That's why we give you the option to refer products by category and keyword. You can narrow down the types of ads you want to display and let AdSense figure out which ones will perform best on your site. Whether you want ads for a specific category, advertiser, or product, referrals 2.0 will give you the control to decide.
- Ad unit optimization: It can be tricky picking the best ads for your site, so we've included ad unit optimization for referrals. When you create a new referral ad unit, simply select the Pick best performing ads option. We'll then compare your selected ads to other relevant ads, and serve the ads we expect to perform best on your site.
- Better targeting for pages with multiple themes: With standard contextual targeting, ads may not match up directly with the text around them if there are a number of themes on the page. With referrals, you can select unique “keywords” for each ad unit to narrow the targeting directly to the theme you want. Better targeting means higher earnings for your site.
- Greater compensation for high-quality traffic: Since referrals are paid on a cost-per-action (CPA) basis, your traffic matters. If the traffic you send to advertisers is more likely to turn into a completed sale or lead, you will earn more with referrals.
- Add your seal of approval: Unlike AdSense for content ads, our program policies allow you to make specific references to referral ads on your site. If you endorse the product that you are referring, feel free to let your users know. By adding your personal review of the products you refer, you can help your users make more informed choices.
And now a very non-geeky version..
1.Relevant Advertisers
I can choose ads and also know their paying price which is not the same for Adsense for Content
2.Let me chose the ad
I can display an image/banner/text referral(subject to availability) of any advertiser I want and can personalise the ads look n' feel.Also the ad doesn't change if the option is unchecked.
3.Honesty
if you are a publisher involved in fraud practises like clicking on your own ads, there's not much for you here because here the site visitor will have to do a certain action which is in most cases joining that site/ buying something from them which mean you need to spend a few bucks which frauds can't afford
4.High Paying
I have found a service{can't disclose name} which is agreeing to credit my account with ~60$ if I refer one visitor to use their services.What about that! To be frank I can't earn that much in a month by adsense for content
Money in experiments

Random folks
Failure takes you to success. Failure here referred is of my sponsored posts. I have done two them, one by smorty, and another of Fring both have pocketed me 12 $ only. I haven’t yet received a customer from Review Me marketplace, so to give out my blog a bit exposure and also fresh air, I have signed up with Sponsored Reviews .There are many causes that have led me to this decision and I’ll point out a few for you
My Review Me price for a sponsored post cannot be decreased below 60$. I think that was too high but for sponsored posts, I can pick my price anywhere between 20$ – 100$
Payout for review me review is 50% of the total amount whereas for a sponsored reviews review it is set at 65%.Moreover I can bid for the amount below or equal to the settled amount
Any Advertiser on Review Me will look for an appropriate blog from their vast, very vast marketplace. Chances of getting any wealthy advertiser is 1%
But in Sponsored Reviews, the publisher(blogger) looks for appropriate advertisers and then bids his amount. Chances of getting appropriate advertiser with some bucks 80%
ReviewMe, gave my blog a rating of 2 stars, Sponsorsed Reviews have given Webtalks a rating of 3 stars
I am pretty bored up seeing the same referral for Blog Reviews by Review Me, so for a change Sponsored Reviews give some very nice Web2.0 icons which makes it look more appealing to attract Adsvertisors
Lastly I would like to add that we will still accept any review from Review Me.To apply via ReviewME click here and to apply via Sponsored Post ...

Note*This is not a sponsored post!

The winner of our second contest was again Nauzer instead of John Chow {as many thought} because his review came just after my hint.Nauzer as you remember was the winner of our first contest too.. others please gear up

A Blog is like a diary where the newest entry is placed first.Remember you can change the date of your publishing by going to Post options and then changing it.You cahange the year to 2099 as I have done{just example} to make the post a static one at homepage.Similarly, if you want a separate section for links , publish a post dated 5-6 years back {depends on blog age. increase years if your blog is older than that}.That post will never show up in the homepage of blog but will give you a new post section!
Coming back to the review.. First impression I got, Adsense have more space than content links There are three identical adsense ad units Skyscrapers back to back. I don't know will it be beneficial or not.Maybe you can try a Conditional Tag hack to place Adsense unit between post url and post body which will definitely increase your bucks plus more CPM.You can also try putting an Adsense for Search in the top so visitors can get exactly what they need.Adding to this you can further try pushing the link unit to the page footer.Also as your site is all text, you can try posting Text referrals like "Get traffic to your site" or "Sign upto Adsense" or even "Buy a Holiday" [the third one is a referral product of Referrals 2.0]
I just ran through your weight losing scheme,

I didn't read whole of it, but the first impression I got is lack of professionalism in it.Any good blogger would had aligned that image or added a float styling to it.Remember this space between post title and body shouldn't be wasted
As for the rest, I don't know whether it suits your site or not, but a feed subscription option will keep your visitors glued to your site
Its all in the URL and title

Search Engine
I recently conducted a small survey across the google searches and concluded some interesting things:
Say we are searching for the most blogged person of 2006 - "Harry Potter"
The first result comes out to be harrypotter.warnerbros.com. Actually harrpotter dot com auto matically redirects you to this site, transferring all of the google juice to it. Interestingly, backlinks for this site according to Google were some 1,340
and the fun is the site ranked #6 for the same query have sum 2,500 backlinks according to Google. Mugglenet dot com is a fan site of Harry Potter and contains the term Harry Potter in its title too.So why is it ranked below Harry Potter dot com?
1.Dont stuff excessive keywords in your title
Stuffing excessive keywords in your homepage may lead the Google Technology to think that the site is targeting many search terms via title eg. Mugglenet besides targetting Harry Potter also targets, Daniel Radcliffe,Emma Watson , Rupert Grint... wheras Harry Potter dot comtargets only Harry Potter term via Title.Obviously, they'll prefer Harry Potter dot com
2.URL is everything
The most common observation of me is that top rated sites in SERP's have the URL matching with the search term and the first thing you are going to do for your site is choose its URL. you can refer to a note to bloggers by me where I discuss how to choose the best avilable URL for your blog/site
Blogger by default, turns the first five words, separated by hyphens "-" as the post URL.So it is advised that you keep the most important keyword first. Although if you edit your post again and change its title, your Post URL doesn't change which is also termed as Permalink
Also try avoiding the change of your page title as it surely affects your SERP{Search Engine Result Page Rating} not only of Google.
So for that reason, mugglenet dot com should be ranked #1 for term mugglenet and so it is.

Just when blogger used to sounded boring, blogger has something for impatient bloggers like me, The Blogger in Draft.
Blogger in draft is a special version of Blogger where we try out new features before releasing them to everyone. Think of it as our sandbox, or laboratory, or just “Blogger + new things.” By taking your feedback and looking at what works and what doesn’t, we’ll be able to make features that much better when releasing them to everyone.To enable some of the most cool widgets, you need to log on from draft.blogger.com/draft instead of blogger.com . Don't be scared your posts won't be lost neither would be your template and also when you feel Blogger in Draft is crap, log in back from blogger.com
what will I win?

Some of the most cool widgets like a dynamic poll element {of course adfree) which is already published for regular users too.
A search box powered by Google coop which collects sources from your entire blog and also linked blogs/websites and too is dynamic.

A Video uploading option direct from your pc into your posts

Enclosure links let you turn your blog into a podcast. If you’ve uploaded your audio or video to the web, you can link to it as an enclosure so that your readers can subscribe and download it using iTunes or another podcatcher. We’ve also gone ahead and added enclosure information for all videos uploaded directly in Blogger, making video podcasting crazy easy!In simple, it turns your blog instantly to a video podcast
And ofcourse a different header...I have already engaged myself in this draft blogger, you can learn more about at its blog

A web feed is a document (often XML-based) which contains content items with web links to longer versions. News websites and blogs are common sources for web feeds, but feeds are also used to deliver structured information ranging from weather data to "top ten" lists of hit tunes to search results. The two main web feed formats are RSS and Atom.
A {new} blogger blog by default comes integrated with many atom feeds.
Summary: When submitting your blog to blog directories, they always ask for a feed URL. I always used to submit my full RSS feed, and I was surprised to see that in My Blog Catalog neighborhood, there were many members who read my blog feed daily but didn't subscribe to it.
If you want a bit more traffic to your site instead of giving your full feed, you can give summarized feed which comprises of headlines and only some portion of the post and excludes images within posts so visitors who click any one of the headline will reach straight your blog's post. URL is
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary
then my blog has
http://webtalks.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary
you can also use it for comments by replacing posts with comments but comments generally are of summary size only. :-)
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/summary
Full feed:Normally in your post footer, you see a line
Subscribe to this blog(Atom)which directly points to your full feed,i.e,
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default -Atom feed
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss -Rss feed
Whenever Firefox detects a feed in a page, it automatically adds subscription options.

On clicking it, I end up to my full feed "http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default"
Say you have an feedburner ID and want to syndicate your feed from there you can do some editing
Normally you'll find this line in your template code
< b:include data="'blog'" name="'all-head-content'/" >
delete this line and add following lines
<meta content='text/html; charset=UTF-8' http-equiv='Content-Type'/>
<meta content='true' name='MSSmartTagsPreventParsing'/>
<meta content='blogger' name='generator'/>
<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Yourblog - Atom" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Yourblog - RSS" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="service.post" type="application/atom+xml" title="Yourblog - Atom" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="EditURI" type="application/rsd+xml" title="RSD" href="http://www.blogger.com/rsd.g?blogID=4220663911355524599" />
After doing the changes, save your template and the validate you feed from here

"Make Money Online" what a keyword targeting tactic! Just because of this keyword john chow dot com receives atleast 150 unique visitors a day that too only from Google
John Chow dot Com is a blog that helps you make money. If you review his blog, he’ll link to it and send you a lot of traffic.
John chow has been recently an internet celebrity not because he earns 12,000$ but he is featured at Leo Laparte.
Google has already issued a yellow penalty card that means has will not be featured on the firt SERP for popular searches just because of his overloading link bait
Interestingly, all other search results for john chow showed that publishers are celebrating when Google penalized him but to the rescue, until he receives a red card from from Google there are 100% chances that he will be back. Infact two of his unique words mogul and ramblings can be found in many blog's description
coming back to the review, John chow dot com was started by john chow to write down all of his thoughts {ramblings} and especially about making money online. So he tried to monetize hs owb site to set up an example. Today, John chow earns 12,000 $ a month out of which only 1000$ is from adsense. This shows us that how can we earn more 90 %.
Besides writing about money making, john chow loves to share his thoughts. Recently, he had a visit to Computex 2007 Taipei and his blog covered most of it.
