A web feed is a document (often XML-based) which contains content items with web links to longer versions. News websites and blogs are common sources for web feeds, but feeds are also used to deliver structured information ranging from weather data to "top ten" lists of hit tunes to search results. The two main web feed formats are RSS and Atom.
A {new} blogger blog by default comes integrated with many atom feeds.
Summary: When submitting your blog to blog directories, they always ask for a feed URL. I always used to submit my full RSS feed, and I was surprised to see that in My Blog Catalog neighborhood, there were many members who read my blog feed daily but didn't subscribe to it.
If you want a bit more traffic to your site instead of giving your full feed, you can give summarized feed which comprises of headlines and only some portion of the post and excludes images within posts so visitors who click any one of the headline will reach straight your blog's post. URL is
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary
then my blog has
http://webtalks.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary
you can also use it for comments by replacing posts with comments but comments generally are of summary size only. :-)
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/summary
Full feed:Normally in your post footer, you see a line
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default -Atom feed
http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss -Rss feed
Whenever Firefox detects a feed in a page, it automatically adds subscription options.
On clicking it, I end up to my full feed "http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default"
Say you have an feedburner ID and want to syndicate your feed from there you can do some editing
Normally you'll find this line in your template code
< b:include data="'blog'" name="'all-head-content'/" >
delete this line and add following lines
<meta content='text/html; charset=UTF-8' http-equiv='Content-Type'/>
<meta content='true' name='MSSmartTagsPreventParsing'/>
<meta content='blogger' name='generator'/>
<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Yourblog - Atom" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Yourblog - RSS" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="service.post" type="application/atom+xml" title="Yourblog - Atom" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourblog" />
<link rel="EditURI" type="application/rsd+xml" title="RSD" href="http://www.blogger.com/rsd.g?blogID=4220663911355524599" />
After doing the changes, save your template and the validate you feed from here
