Milestone: Webtalks in Technorati Top 1000

Thank you all my readers for giving webtalks the honour to be in Technorati Top 1000.We are currently ranked 977, with an authority of 1,570 .So that means , if you need to accompany me, we have to get some 1,500 cool links.To be frank, I wasn't that surprised to be at this position because our site offers templates.I had planned we'll reach there by this month, so here we are.To get in Technorati top 100. we'll require an authority of around 4000 which I estimate we'll get in November/Decemeber 2007 . 

So are we a A-Lister ?

There is no valid definition when a blog is an A- Lister.But I think Webtalks isn't quite there as it is in its developing stage.I don't know about A-Lister but we'll definitely be at respectable position by the end of 2007.

Next Milestones ?

Well you may be surprised to know that still we aren't in Alexa top 100,000 .So that's my next aim.Simultaneously Feedcount is also heading towards the 100 mark.

And ofcourse...

This screen shot is of the period when Technorati got a harmful bot and as a result, all blogs were showing the same 1* rank.

Don't be worried, we aren't that major blog to reach there

Technorati introduces Technorati advanced search

In a short period of time,Technorati have re-designed its website and added / removed some features.The new look has a bit of professional touch in it.Technorati now have added a new part in their family, Technorati Advanced Search


Technorati Search is an advanced version of their previous Technorati Search.What is a new cool feature added to this advanced search is their syndication options.For example, your looking for something about the New design of Analytics, simply advance search it and then subscribe it through your favourite bookmark option.If you are a webmaster, you can subscribe to the backlinks for your URL,so that you do not have to search daily.

Blog authority which gives a pleasant idea about the blog's placement in the blogosphere.They previously displayed a line "XXX links to this URL".Now they have removed it from normal search and have added to advanced search "XXX reactions to this blog"

Something strange I noticed is that when I searched for my back up wordpress domain via normal search, I ended up with a page which was still having the old design and was still displaing the blog rank.

This may be a bug in thier system after all Technorati have been facing many harmful bots in recent days and many publishers were attacked with Technorati Ghosts while sending pings.Technorati have still not removed blog ranks from their APIs

Update

Looks like Technorati is still experimenting with their layout and they have re-added the blog rank.Or maybe they might have read that people are not happy without the blog rank

What has really changed?

-A thumbnail of Blog is available on Blog Profile page

-A photo of fans who favourated your blog is available on Blog Profile Page

-"Links to this site" changed to "Authority" and "Blog Reactions"

-Basic mood of design changed from Dark Green to Light Grey

This design makeover will not affect your site's ranking in any way.Technorati have not updated their blog on this topic yet but I am expecting it soon

My Site is not updated by Technorati

Technorati, an online directory of blogs, a website that has an collection of all posts, blogs ,tags currenlt present in the blogosphere. It would really be an embarrassing situation when a webmaster finds his blog his blog ranked above 3,000,000. Technorati basically indexes all blogs and their posts whenever they are published on any blogging platform. If you are the owner of a blog, you can claim it by three methods. Claiming gives you advantages of Technorati profiles, Technorati Widgets and Tagging your Website. But recently, Technorati had been followed by a bug which resulted in Technorati missing some blog posts and even complete blogs {including mine} after giving rapid pings too. Most of these problems were faced by webmasters who use blogger. Since I was also the one affected, my stats used to say something like that ::

Rank:: 3,000,000 +
Last Updated:: 90 Days ago.

Plus it was saying that I haven’t published any post yet

I really felt embarrassed when I found such ranking of my blog. I tried to contact the Technorati Support via mail. But they did not reply me for over 3 weeks. Sometimes there used to be an automated response that I should validate my feeds. But as I am using the blogger platform, I was quite sure that my feeds were valid. When they did not responded my query over a long time, my patience broke and I contacted The Technorati Media Person. Suddenly I discovered hat Technorati have mentioned this problem in their blog post. I found the trick and visited their discussion forum. Their I reliased that Technorati Developers are active responders to the queries made by the Technorati Members. I posted on my problem. The next Day, BINGO! , my blog was updated which now looked something like this.




So its my advice to bloggers who are facing problem like me, Please post your problem on discussion forum at Technorati Support.


Anyways my Technorati Blog Favorites were also affected so you can now re-add this blog as your favorite if you are a Technorati Member.
